VEILS AND TEARS
This album was an itch that needed to be scratched. It’s different to World On Fire, yet still has my blood running through its veins. It is my message of gratitude to Pink Floyd and with that I wanted to branch out a little, get a bit psychedelic and perhaps more introverted.
For me 8 Minutes, is what stands out. This its timestamp. How I wrote this without destroying it with anger, I don’t know. I thinking keeping words to a minimum and keeping the music, if not sombre then certainly a gentle hammock in which the words could rest, worked in its favour. It could have been a rant, but that would have been self-serving and disrespectful to all those who have died at the hands of ICE and Trump.
I think the humour takes a bit of a backseat on the album and I don’t mind that. It’s what I needed to do at the time. The music suits the title: Veils and Tears. A very good title, I thought.
