THE VERY ACT OF BREATHING

So, that’s album number two, the album reviewed so generously by Fireworks magazine. Production-wise, it’s an improvement – I had taken a step up that learning curve. Listening to it now, I still see places where I perhaps tried too hard to get it right and the technology, which has improved massively in such a short time, was a little more difficult to manipulate.

I was till working from a massive backlog of poetry and lyrics at this point, so I was lucky in that I had some reasonably firm foundations to work upon, but songs like We Just Do, The Landscape of Your Heart, He Has, She Has and The Scene of the Crime were fresh inventions and this gave me the confidence to believe that I could branch out, that I did not have to be confined by what I had done before.
